Mrs. Lois Gail Devito age 72 of Appalachian Estates Road Murphy, NC., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday October 17, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Devito was born on March 29, 1947 in Thomasville, NC., the daughter of the late Samuel Faulkner and the late Imogene Hughes. She had lived in Murphy for the past 20 years. Lois loved all animals, especially her two dogs “Gee Gee” & “Joe Joe”. Lois was a very sociable person having had many friends whom she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Gary W. Faulkner & David Faulkner, and a sister, Ginger Hankins. Lois was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Lois are two sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda Faulkner of Thomasville, NC., Judy & Joe Lowe of Trinity, NC., and a brother and sister-in-law Samuel & Kathy Faulkner. Several other nieces & nephews also survive.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 20, 2019 at 6:00pm at the New Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant in Murphy, NC with Rev. Joy Stein officiating. The family will meet with friends following the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Logan’s Run Rescue & Thrift Store (3000 US-64, Murphy, NC 28906) in Lois’ memory.
