BLAIRSVILLE, Ga – Union County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 37-year-old, Christopher Ray Bryson, on six felony counts of alleged sex crimes, including statutory rape, against a minor over several months in 2019.
Union County Officer Tom Magnifesta opened the investigation into Bryson after receiving information from Towns County Detective Sergeant Langdon Beard that Bryson may have committed statutory rape and child molestation in Union County.
After an approximately two week investigation, Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) arrested Bryson on Oct. 28 on two counts of statutory rape (16-6-3), two counts of aggravated child molestation (16-6-4), and two counts of aggravated sodomy (16-6-2). These are all felony charges.
The assault occurred from June to October in 2019, and at this time, it is unclear how Bryson knew the 13-year-old minor. The incidents are believed to have occurred at the home of the suspect.
On Oct. 30, 2019, Bryson was denied bond for his alleged crimes by Magistrate Court Judge Cary Cox.
