Jerry Dale Dotson: Obituary

   Mr. Jerry Dale Dotson age 77 of Lassie Lane Young Harris passed away peacefully on Sunday January 5, 2020 in the Murphy Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Dotson was born on December 30, 1942 in Young Harris, GA., the son of the late Loy Dotson and the late Euna Sams Dotson. He was a veteran of the US Navy of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the D.A.V. and also the American Legion Post 23 in Hiawassee. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and also four brothers, Frank, O’Dell, Carl and Lloyd Dotson. Mr. Dotson was a member of Woods Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Dotson are one sister, Patricia Lovell of Young Harris, four brothers and three sisters in law, Harold Dotson of Virginia Beach, VA., Dwight and Noble Lee Dotson of Easley, SC., Charles and Judy Dotson of Dalton, Caroll and Elaine Dotson of Young Harris, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiating. Special music will be presented by Linda Morgan Military Honors will be presented by the North GA. Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Gideons or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Mr. Dotson. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
