Mrs. Rosina Mary Gerding age 93 of Mtn. Top Rd. Blairsville formerly of Roswell, GA. passed away peacefully on Monday July 4, 2016 at Stonehenge following an extended illness. Mrs. Gerding was born on Sept. 14, 1922 in St. Louis, MO., the daughter of the late Harry Steetzer and the late Alvina Belville Steetzer. Rosina was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles and crocheting. She always had a wonderful laugh and a great sense of humor. Rosina spent the last five years being cared for by the wonderful ladies of Building #3 at Stonehenge. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred E. Gerding Jr. in 1992. Rosina was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mrs. Gerding are one son, James Gerding of Cameron, MO., one daughter and son in law, Rise’ and William Lockwood of Blairsville, four grandchildren, John, Jamie and Jennifer Volkmar and Rochelle Gerding, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 7, 2016 at 3:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Tim Renshaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Stonehenge Assisted Living % the Activities Department in Mrs. Gerding’s memory.
