Mrs. Jean Antoinette Schweizer age 82 of Blairsville formerly of Boynton Beach, FL. passed away peacefully on Thursday August 4, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Schweizer was born on Oct. 30, 1933 in Long Island, NY., the daughter of the late Herman Schweizer and the late Erma Klien Schweizer. Jean had been a teacher for over sixty one years, having founded several schools. She was very gifted in working with handicapped children. She loved children and loved to laugh and always had a great sense of humor. Over the years she authored five books. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, Richard Schweizer. Jean was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Jean are one daughter and son in law, Ava and Richard Vester of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Matthaus and Hope Atkinson of Scranton, PA., one nephew, David Schweizer of Coral Springs, FL., eight grandchildren, Ann, Josh and Sylvia Hyles, Scott and Reyna Atkinson, Page and Todd Olver, Sarah, Rachel and Jacqueline Vester, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date from the House of Prayer Church with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating and will be announced.
