Mr. Rolin L.V. Blaylock age 85 of Andrews passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Clay County Care Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Blaylock was born on June 21, 1932 in Andrews, NC, the son of the late Merriman Blaylock and the late Myrtle Palmer Blaylock. He was a native and lifelong resident of Andrews. L.V. was a veteran of the US Marines of the Korean War. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen June Phillips Blaylock on Feb. 18, 2017, a brother, Bunk Blaylock and a sister and brother in law, Willa Mae and Lloyd Millsaps.

L.V. was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Blaylock are three sons and daughters in law, Marlon and Phyllis Blaylock of Andrews, Jeffrey and Sherry Blaylock of Asheville, Bryan and Susan Blaylock of Seymour, TN., a sister in law, Geneva Blaylock of Canton, GA., grandchildren, Marlena and Shane Cutshaw, Kari and Michael Bond, Katie Blaylock, Zachary Blaylock and Tyler Gant, Seth Blaylock and Lea, Cody Blaylock and Dez, Jesse Blaylock, Jake Blaylock, Sierra Cutshaw, Josh and Lindsey Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter and Danielle, many great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at 5:00 pm at the Valley River Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Phillips and Rolin Phillips officiating. Special music will be presented by Steve Blackwell, and Michael and Kari Bond. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where he will rest next to his beloved wife Helen. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Valley River Cemetery Fund, PO Box 1189 Andrews, NC. 28901 in Mr. Blaylock’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the Valley River Church on Friday from 3-5:00 pm prior to the services. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
