Margaret Viola Guenther Lewis: Obituary
Obituaries August 28, 2019Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend Margaret Viola Guenther Lewis passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
She was loved by so many and will always be remembered by her contagious smile, beautiful heart, and her AMAZING banana bread.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Gerald Edwin Lewis, her mother and father and her siblings, and two of her beloved children.
She is survived by her sons, Alvin Lewis and daughter-in-law Debi Lewis, Robert Lewis and daughter-in-law Marlene Lewis, Donald Lewis and daughter-in-law Margaret Ann Lewis, and her beloved daughter Amy Lewis. Also survived by many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other friends and loved ones.
She adored this community and was proud to be an active member of the Copper Basin area. Everyone has such good memories with her. She was so proud of her family and loved to brag to the community about how much she loved each and every one of us. She never met a stranger and was so full of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.
She was a diligent servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his light continues to shine from her life’s work.
When the family feels alone or sad about her passing, we are reminded that her faith was and always will be in the Lord, and she waits for us just over Jordan.
Her favorite bible verses
Psalms 91
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.””
Psalms 121
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.”
