Mrs. Nancy Lee Trant, age 77 of Hiawassee Park formerly of Murphy, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday September 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. Mrs. Trant was born on November 9, 1940 in Flint, MI., the daughter of the late John Warner Brown and the late Marion Helen Lundsten Brown.
Mrs. Trant loved animals and served as the Executive Directive of the Humane Society in Sarasota, Florida. She was very involved in the Republican Party in Michigan and served as Genesee County Commissioner in Flint, Michigan from 1977 to 1983. Mrs. Trant was a delegate to the 1976 and 1980 Republican National Convention for Ronald Reagan. Mrs. Trant served as the Michigan Executive Director in 1984 for President Reagan’s re-election campaign. Her passion for liberty and the protection and adherence to our Constitution was a driving force in her life. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Trant in 2013, her parents and also a sister, Vivian DiPaolo. Nancy was of the Christian faith and looked forward to her Heavenly home with Jesus.
Surviving Mrs. Trant are two daughters and sons in law, Debbie and Gerry Shaw of Asheville, NC., Diana and Mark Donaldson of Grand Blanc, MI., one son, Dan Anderson of Reno, NV., one sister, Linda Headrick of Ft. Mills, SC., one brother, Warner Brown of Elmira, MI., ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held in November in Asheville, NC, time and place to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Humane Society in memory of Mrs. Trant.

Eva Jane Lawson: Obituary

Mrs. Eva Jane Lawson, age 77 of Blairsville, GA passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Monday, October 1, 2018 following an extended illness. Mrs. Lawson was born on July 11, 1941, in Billett IL, the daughter of the late James E. Hamilton and Dorothy Lucile Goff. Mrs. Lawson was most passionate about being a wife, mother ,grandmother, great grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, James “Jimmy” Hamilton. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lawson are her loving husband and best friend of fifty one years, Neal Lawson of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law David and Melody Lawson of Blythville, AR, one daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Joe Lively of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law Janet and Larry Guice of Ft. Myers, FL, brother Richard Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren William and Brittany Hauver III, Airylla Lawson, Baylie and Charles Dejbakhsh, great grandchildren Emmaline Hauver, Eleanor Hauver, Phoenix Stovall, and Liam Stovall, many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other friends and relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lawson will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Feathers officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, David Lawson, Joe Lively, Taylor Akers, Jerome Thacker, Rex Lawson and Sam Nichols. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Airyella and Braylie Lawson, Emmaline and Eleanor Hauver, Phoenix and Liam Stovall and Charles Dejbakhsh. Interment will follow at the Meadow View Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Lawson will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Flowers are accepted for Mrs. Lawson, or in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Homestead Hospice or Lewy Body Dementia Association.

Ruby Alline McClure: Obituary

Mrs. Ruby Alline McClure age 89 of Brannon Nix Spur Young Harris passed away peacefully on Friday September 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. Mrs. McClure was born on July 7, 1929 in Union County, the daughter of the late Major Grant and the late Dora Shuler Grant. Ruby loved gardening and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Rolen Gibson in 1977 and her second husband, Frank McClure in 1995, her son, John Gibson in 2016, two sisters, Donnie Anderson and Louise Breedlove. Mrs. McClure was a member of Many Forks Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. McClure are two sons , Charles and Gladys Gibson, Melvin Gibson, one daughter, Judy and Chuck Albury, two daughters in law, Judy Gibson, Diane and Kenneth Davis all of Young Harris, Like a daughter, Linda and Charles Floyd of Blairsville, two brothers, David Grant of Murphy, Henry Grant of Dallas, GA., two sisters, Ossie Mae Jones and Dorothy Vandiver both of Young Harris, six grandchildren, Chad, Cody, Jesse, Jenna, Krystal and Kimberly, nine great grandchildren, Colten, Copper, Maeva Rose, Layla, Jayden, Braylee, Reed, Khloe and Jamison, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 30, 2018 at 3:00 pm from the Many Forks Baptist Church with Rev. R.L. Martin and Rev. Ronnie Abernathy officiating. Special music will be presented by Jonathan Adams. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Chad, Cody and Jesse Gibson, Brandon Anderson, Sean Spade and Ryan Hadas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Colten Gibson and Reed Adams. Interment will follow in the Many Forks Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband. The family will meet with friends at the Many Forks Church on Sunday from 1-3:00 pm.

Geneva Hyde McClure: Obituary

Mrs. Geneva Hyde McClure age 80 of Rose Petal Lane Ellijay formerly of Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at her home following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Union and Fannin Counties. Geneva was very passionate about her family and was a very loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved growing flowers, especially roses and working in her yard. She and her husband Hadley owned and operated McClure’s Hardware for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hadley Eugene McClure in 2008, her son, Harold Eugene McClure in 2009 and a sister, Ruby Long. Mrs. McClure was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff.
Surviving Mrs. McClure are one daughter and son in law, Patsy and Charlie Padgett of Ellijay, one son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Vickie McClure of Blairsville, one sister and brother in law, Darlene and Ronald Shore of Culberson, NC., eleven grandchildren, Mandy Long, Kevin Rogers, Chris McClure, Bo McClure, James Harper, Ann Creasman, Andy McClure, Jason Harper, Amy McClure, Ashley Nix and Jake McClure, eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Sept. 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Brent Chatham officiating. Special music will be presented by Sara Kate Odom. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Chris, Bo, Andy and Jake McClure, Joey Shore, Benny Long and James Ross. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband, Hadley. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memory of Mrs. McClure. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-9:00 pm.

Mrs. Patricia “Patty” Ann Little age 62 of Little Lane Murphy formerly of Marietta passed away peacefully on Sunday September 23, 2018 in the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Little was born on April 17, 1956 in Long Beach, CA., the daughter of the late Lake James Little and the late JoAnn Thompson Little. Patty was a veteran of the US Navy and served as a Medic, DJ, and police officer. She was a true American and loved her Country and was proud of her service in the Military. Patty had made her home in Murphy for the past twenty five years. She was a Journalist editor of Cherokee Scout for 15 years and cna in later years by trade Patty was a loving mother, sister and aunt
Surviving Mrs. Little are one son, Jason Blake Little of Murphy, one brother and sister in law, James and Barbara Little of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Robert Sewell Wamsley: Obituary

Mr. Robert Sewell Wamsley age 64 of Hidden Lake Court Cherry Log, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 25, 2018 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Wamsley was born on October 8, 1953 in Akron, OH., the son of the late Robert Wamsley and the late Dora Wamsley. Robert was an avid photographer and loved taking wildlife photos. He was also an expert kayaker. Robert was a loving and caring husband, stepfather and grandfather. He also loved his three cats dearly, Linda, Spot and Gremlin. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Robert was of the Christian faith.
Surviving Mr. Wamsley are his loving wife and best friend, Shirley Ann Tastad of Cherry Log, two stepsons, Seth Tastad of Laramie, WY., Eric and Angela Tastad of Marion, IA., three grandchildren, Leif, Freya and Anders, many other relatives and friends also survive.
