Mr. Terry Glenn “Corky” Trapp age 46 of Old Dial Rd. Blue Ridge passed away peacefully on Sunday July 28, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Trapp was born on July 27, 1973 in Rome, GA., the son of Larry Glenn Trapp and Judy Carol Lumberg. Randy Lydall Trapp, Corky’s special friend, and first cousin, served as best man at his wedding. Randy also was Baptized the same day as Corky on July 25, 2019,  which was performed by Pastor Ed Philo in the home of Terry and Machelle Trapp. Corky had many brother like relationships within his forty six years of life. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather.

Surviving Terry are his loving wife and best friend, Machelle Myers Trapp of Blue Ridge, mother, Judy Lumberg of Summerville, father,  Glenn Trapp of Summerville, two daughters, Jessica Darlene Trapp, Carry Meranda Trapp both of Summerville, stepsons, Dustin Ray Aaron Gowens of Calhoun, Ga, Timothy Tyler Gowens of Phoenix, AZ., Braden Dallas McAfee Rhymer of Dalton, two brothers, Scotty Trapp of Tryon, GA., Dee Gardener of Fairmount, grandchildren, Alaina Evelyn and Case Robert McCarty, Honesty Annalee Noles all of Summerville, Aria Rae Lynn Gowens, Aaron Lukas Russell  Gowens of Calhoun,Ga several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday August 3, 2019 at 5:00 pm from the Tilley Bend Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Philo officiating. The family will meet with friends following the services at the church with a reception to follow (Friends may bring a dish if you would like). Mr. William George Mason age 74 of Dogwood Drive Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 23, 2019 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Mason was born on Feb. 12, 1945 in Murphy, NC., the son of the late William Mason and the late Oma Long Mason. William retired from the Union County Nursing Home after many years of service. His favorite pastime was watching his T.V. and he enjoyed fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Mason was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Mason are his loving wife, Sandra Cook Mason of Blairsville, his step children, Jason Seabolt, Amanda Spooner, Eric Seabolt, Ashley Seabolt all of Blairsville; sister, Ruth Ledford; sister-in-law Jessie Mason; nieces Peggy Robinson, Pam DeLong; nephews Kenny Nichols, Mike Nichols; great nephews, Travis Robinson, Shawn Robinson all of Hayesville, eight step grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mr. James H. Haizlip Jr. age 98 of Azalea Lane Blairsville passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday August 25, 2019 following an extended illness. Mr. Haizlip was born on March 7, 1921 in Perrine/Peters, FL., the son of the late James Homer Haizlip Sr. and the late Margaret Oda Zachry Haizlip. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Force of WWII. James was a devout Catholic who loved his church. He had owned and operated North Georgia Engraving in Blairsville for several years.

Surviving Mr. Haizlip is his loving wife and best friend, Nancy Haizlip of Blairsville, two sons and daughter-in-laws., Jim & Sharon Haizlip of Ball Ground, GA., Danny & Pam(Connor) Haizlip of Blairsville, GA., a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Richard Smith of Blairsville, GA., eight grandchildren also survive; Todd & Jennifer Smith, Brennan & Caroline Smith, Zac & Shannah Haizlip, James & Madge Smith, Patrick (Packy) Smith, Connor & Leanna Smith, Casey & Christina Smith, and Mary & Sebastian Blinn. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday Aug 27, 2019 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Jaime Rivera and Father Selvaraj officiating. Mrs. Elbertia Patsy Edwards age 76 of  Plott Town Overlook Rd. Young Harris, GA. passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday July 31, 2019 in the North East GA Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Edwards was born on August 1, 1942 in Blairsville, GA., the daughter of the late William Owen Rogers and the late Amanda Irene Mauldin Rogers. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister in law, Stanley and Barbara Rogers and Dale Rogers. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Edwards are her loving husband and best friend, Jay Edwards of Young Harris, one son and daughter in law, William and Rachel Edwards of Young Harris, sister in law, Geleta Rogers of Hiawassee, two grandchildren, Nathan Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Little Journey Marie Cone went to be with Jesus on Tuesday July 23, 2019 in the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born on July 23, 2019 the daughter of Joseph Timothy Cone and Peyton LeighAnna Cone. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Timothy Cone. Heaven gained another little Angel on Tuesday.

Mr. Tommy Sosebee, age 67 of Brasstown Creek Rd. Young Harris formerly of Blairsville passed away on Friday July 19, 2019 in the North East GA Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Sosebee was born on April 18, 1952 in Young Harris, GA , the son of the late Randall Sosebee and the late Magadelena Fortenberry Sosebee. Tommy’s passions were coaching football, traveling and the Georgia Bulldogs.  Tommy was a graduate from the University of Georgia.  He had coached football at various schools throughout the state of Georgia. He enjoyed working is his yard and landscaping. He was a loving and caring husband and father.  A friend to all those he has touched.  He was preceded in death by his parents and also a brother, Tim Sosebee who passed away on June 1, 2019. Tommy was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Sosebee are his loving wife and best friend, Patti Duncan Sosebee of Young Harris, one daughter, Sasha Sosebee of Daytona Beach, FL., two stepdaughters, Kim and Bryan Skalku of Cumming, GA., Wendy Collins of Acworth, GA., his church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mrs. Gay Arlene Jaslowski age 83 of Stacy Lane Blairsville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday July 31, 2019 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Jaslowski was born on April 25, 1936 in Clewiston, FL., the daughter of the late Harry Swain Sr. and the late Jesse Mae Henderson Swain. Gay and her husband Andy raised miniature horses for many years. She was a loving and caring mother, sister and aunt. She also loved her dog Tuffy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Andy” Jaslowski in 2014 and also by a sister, Linda Swain. Gay was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving Mrs. Jaslowski are one daughter who she dearly cherished, Cheryl Jaslowski of Blairsville, two brothers and sisters in law, Harry and Loretta Swain of Land Of Lakes, FL., Jimmy and Nancy Swain of Savannah, GA., several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 3. 2019 at 11:00 am from the Meadow View Cemetery with Pastor Ray Potts officiating, where she will rest next to her beloved husband Andy. Mr. Jack Walter Housley, age 87, of Epworth, GA, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2019. Jack was born on July 15, 1932, in Epworth, GA, to the late Lester G. & Naomi Galloway Housley.
Jack retired from Tennessee Chemical Company in the late 1980s and went on to also retire from truck driving in 2007. He enjoyed gardening, Nascar and community work, as well as, a special devotion to his family and his church. He was awarded the honor of a fifty-year pin from McCay Lodge #423 F&AM and served as a deacon for Bethel Church for over thirty-eight years. He greatly enjoyed singing with Bethel Choir and being an active part of the bus ministry. Jackie goes on to be with his parents as well as his brothers, Jerry Housley and Jim Housley.
He will be remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Shirley Qualls Housley; Children, Jackie Housley, Diane West, Rick Housley, and Andy Housley; brother, Max Housley, and sister, Bobbie Jean Phillips. Also sharing in his legacy are ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Linda Margaret Harmon age 74 of Patrick’s Dr. Blairsville passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 26, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Harmon was born on July 13, 1945 in Blakely, GA., the daughter of the late Hiram Rabon and late Letha Jarret. Linda loved gardening, sewing, traveling, but most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by a sister, Ina Gayle Rabon, and a stepson, Kevin Michael Harmon. Linda Harmon was known as “Lindy” to her husband and “Grammie” to most others. She was also known for her Christian faith.

Mrs. Azaline Emerson Harkins age 59 of Oak Tree Village Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday August 20, 2019 following a brief illness. Mrs. Harkins was born on Nov. 11, 1959 in Atlanta, GA., the daughter of Reba Chastain Emerson and the late James Lewis Emerson. Azaline loved playing all kind of games, was always very cheerful and loved all children. Most of all she loved her church and church family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Israel and four brothers, George, Donald, Lewis and Earnest Emerson.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Harkins was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Harkins are her loving husband and best friend of thirty seven years, Roger Eugene Harkins of Blairsville,  one daughter and son in law, Barbara and Barry King of Blairsville, her mother, Reba Emerson of Blairsville, one sister and brother in law, Doshie and Clayton Richardson of Douglasville, three brothers and sisters in law, Jerome and Edith Emerson of Hixon, TN., David and Jill Emerson of Douglasville, Daniel and Bonnie Emerson of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Machalia Nelson and Brian Nelson, several nieces, nephews, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.
