Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Jean Carpenter Little, age 85, of Blairsville, who passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Stonehenge Assisted Living in Blairsville.

Jean was born May 30, 1930, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Henry Carpenter and the late Nina Watkins Carpenter. Jean had lived in Blairsville since 1992, moving here from East Point, Georgia, where she had taught school in Fulton and Cobb County School Systems. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and had been a Sunday School teacher. Jean had been active in Union General Hospital Auxiliary, and served there for many years. She was an avid crossword enthusiast, and loved to travel in the mountains in the Southeast, but her favorite destination was Walt Disney World in Orlando! Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother- her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving family members include her husband, Ed Little, of Blairsville; daughter, Nancy Harwood and her husband, Stephen Stratman, of Blairsville; daughter, Cindy, and her husband David Acreman, of Douglasville, Georgia; and son, James E. Little, Jr., and his wife, Heather, of Murphy, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Nicholas Harwood, and his wife, Amanda, of Blairsville; Aaron Harwood, and his wife, Christina, of Blackshear, Georgia; and Lauren Hayes, of Douglasville, Georgia.

Funeral services for Jean have been scheduled for Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Bob Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Bellview Cemetery in North Carolina. The family will meet with friends before the service, starting at 10:00 a.m.
