Mr. Timothy “Tim” Donovan Kirtley, age 53, of Wild Ridge Rd. Blairsville passed away peacefully on Monday August 10, 2015 following a battle with cancer. Tim was born on March 10, 1962 in Miami, FL son of the late Susan Kirtley. He was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a 1980 graduate of Union County High School. Before his sickness he had been employed with Walmart and previously owned and operated Wild Ridge Construction Company which he started in 1986. Tim loved building furniture and had built many homes over his career. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a son, Derek Donovan Kirtley and by his mother, Susan Kirtley. Tim was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Tim are his loving wife and best friend of thirty six years, Wanda Young Kirtley of Blairsville, daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Rodney Garrett) Kirtley, son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Jessica Kirtley, daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Brannon Passmore all of Blairsville, brother and sister in law, Bill and Sharon Kirtley of Lake Wales, Fl., four grandchildren, Hunter, Bailey and Cole Garrett and Rilee Passmore, many other relatives and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends at the home (243 Wild Ridge RD, Blairsville, GA) on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Tim’s memory.
