Mr. Wiley Jay Arrowood age 63 of Charles Taylor Rd. Murphy passed away on Friday September 25, 2015 in the Murphy Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Arrowood was born on June 19, 1952 in Murphy, NC., the son of Lillian Carringer Arrowood and the late Wallace Arrowood. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County. Wiley loved riding Harley Motorcycles, his chickens and cats, along with his companion Scarlotte O’Hara helped him sit on the porch and watch the world go by. Wiley was of the Baptist faith. Surviving Mr. Arrowood are his loving wife and best friend of forty years, Marie Callesen Arrowood of Murphy, one son, Jay Arrowood of Peachtree, his mother, Lillian Guffey of Peachtree, two sisters, Joy Rose of Murphy, Barbara Walkey of Dalton, one brother, Eddie Arrowood of Peachtree, several nieces, nephews, a host of friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday Sept. 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Hoyt Brown officiating. Special music will be presented by Dinah Cook and Ray Cook. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Gary Phillips, Scott McDonald, Brad Rogers, Mark Suddeth, James Klauke and John Wells. The family will meet with friends at the church on Monday from 12-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers if you wish the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Wiley’s memory.
