Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Neal age 77 of Trackrock Gap Rd, Blairsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday Oct. 6, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Neal was born on April 28, 1938 in Keene, NH., the daughter of the late Gordon Proulx and the late Dorothy Warner Proulx. Jackie loved animals, camping, reading, gospel music and collecting antiques. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jonathan Edgar Hazen in 2009. Jackie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving Jackie are loving husband and best friend, Charles Neal of Blairsville, two daughters and sons in law, Sherry and David Clements of Plant City, FL., Joellen and George Bridges of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, Shawn and Christina Hazen of Brandon, FL., one step daughter, Cynthia and Roger Harper of Canton, OH., eight grandchildren, Christine Clements, Brett Clements, Melissa Nason, Jordan Meredith, Jarred Fisher, Dylan Fisher, Samuel Hazen and Emily Hazen, three great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, Rose Simpson and John Scott Jr., many other relatives and friends also survive. A Celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Thomas and Rev. Eddie Ramey officiating. Special music will be presented by Lavada Cheek. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Poppy’s Feed The Hungry or to the Union County Humane Society Mtn. Shelter in Mrs. Neal’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-9 pm. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church cemetery in Hayesville.
