Mrs. Judy Carol Feathers age 73 of Murphy Hwy. Blairsville went to be her Savior after a period of declining health. Judy was born on June 1, 1942 in Dublin, GA., the daughter of the late Frank Brookins and the late Bernice Ward Brookins. She was a beloved wife, a fabulous mother, a faithful and caring person who always sought to help others in her community. Above all she was a Godly woman who loved her Savior and the Kingdom of God. She was preceded in death by her parents and by three infant children, two brothers, Rudoulph Brookins and Emory Morris, two sisters, Runette Langford and an infant sister. Judy was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Haysville. Judy is survived by her soul mate and husband of forty eight years, John Feathers of Blairsville, three daughters and sons in law, Kathy and Wayne Connally of Canton, GA., Teresa and Perry Hughes of Murphy, Johnetta and Adam Jilks of Milledgeville, GA., four sons and two daughters in law, David and Becky Feathers of Blairsville, Rick Feathers of Madison, GA., Timothy and Jodi Feathers of Valdosta, GA., Johnny Feathers of Valdosta, eighteen grandchildren ten great grandchildren, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Jan. 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. David Feathers officiating. Special music will be presented by Jennifer Marshall, Elaine Young and Kristen Feathers. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Logan and Dakota Feathers, Wayne Connally and Perry Hughes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Duncan, Dade Duncan, John Peyton Feathers and Dustin Hughes. Interment will follow on Friday in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish the family requests that donations may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hayesville in memory of Mrs. Feathers. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
