Richard Michael Kiefer, age 66, of Suches, Ga passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and left for Fort Bragg, NC to join the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He moved to Stuart, Florida where he met the love of his life of 42 years, Michele Kiefer, and God blessed them with a beautiful family.

He is survived by his 3 children and 4 grandchildren: Jennifer Kiefer Gonzalez of Orlando, Florida (and spouse, Mark), Keri Kiefer Benoit of Atlanta, GA (and spouse, Cory), Sean Michael Kiefer (and spouse, Kristen) of Suches, Georgia. His Grandchildren: Anya and Nikolas Gonzalez, of Orlando, Florida, and Harrison and Henry Benoit of Atlanta, Georgia. Richard Kiefer was a man of integrity, blessed with a gift of master carpentry skills, and known for his unwavering devotion to his family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 20th, at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blairsville, Georgia: 3717 Hwy 515 E Blairsville, GA 30512 with Father Juan Areiza and Father Richard Wise officiating. Special music will be presented by Ron Gaucher and Marianne Engelmann. Interment will follow at a later date in the Bramlett Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in loving memory of Richard Kiefer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home: 760 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.
