Ms. Chanel Willene Hilliard age 53 of Blairsville passed away on Sunday May 7, 2017 in Union County from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.

Chanel was born on Dec. 29, 1963 in Atlanta, GA., the daughter of William Arthur Hilliard and Eva Knight Hilliard. She had made her home in Blairsville for the past thirty years. Chanel worked in the home health industry as a care giver, helping those in need. Chanel was a free spirit, and was passionate about her grandsons and loved spending time with them. Chanel especially loved riding motorcycles, and died doing what she loved. Surviving Ms. Hilliard are her father and step mother William and Dora Hilliard of Eastman, GA, mother Eva Underwood of Helen, GA, daughter Ashley Cordell of Blairsville, GA, son and daughter in law Jon-Erik and Jessica Harkins of Dawsonville, GA, brother Bruce Hilliard of Eastman, GA, grandchildren Peyton Jake Cordell and Elijah Taylor Bailey, and many other friends and relatives also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ms. Hilliard will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to help defray expenses.
