Mrs. Marion Glazer Block, age 91 of Blairsville, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Stonehenge Assisted Living following an extended illness. The night she passed, her loving daughter, Susan, was by her side, and love surrounded Marion during her last moments. Marion, the daughter of the late Isaac Glazer and the late Lina Posterlov Glazer, was born on Sept. 29, 1925 in New York City, NY. An Avon Representative for over thirty years, Marion was caring and outgoing and was loved and respected by her family, friends and neighbors. She devoted her life to her Jewish faith, and, because of her upbringing, she spoke fluent Yiddish, and Hebrew. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Bristol Block in 1995, two brothers, Samuel and Sidney Glazer and her son, Paul Block in 1975.

Surviving Mrs. Block are one daughter, Susan Block of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Jake Wentzek of Wilmington, NC., and Kayla Wentzek of Blairsville. Many other friends and neighbors also survive.

A Celebration of Marion’s life will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 3:00 pm from Stonehenge Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or to Georgia Mtn Hospice in Marion’s memory. The family will meet with friends on Saturday at Stonehenge from 2-3:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
