Mrs. Lee Oma Peck Evans age 90 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday Jul 5, 2017 at Chatuge nursing home following an extended illness. Mrs. Evans was born on May 23, 1927 in Gainesville GA., the daughter of the late David Paul Peck and the late Bessie Isabelle Bowen. Lee Oma enjoyed puzzle books, going to church, and singing. She worked for Union Co. Hospital auxiliary for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Henry who died in 1992, her brothers Elmer Peck, Norman Peck, Donald Peck, sister, Eva Peck, son James Michael, son-in-law Lonnie Pruitt, and granddaughters Madison & Mikayla Contardi. Lee Oma loved her church and loved the Lord. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Old Liberty Baptist Church in Blairsville.

Surviving Mrs. Evans are three daughters and sons in law, Pat Pruitt of Clermont, Elaine and Larry Allison of Gainesville, Betty and Jim Land of Auburn, GA., two sons and daughter in laws, Rick and Deborah Evans of Riverview, FL., Ronnie and Dinah Evans of Blairsville, one sister, Bertha Sanford of Dahlonega, three brothers, John Peck of Gainesville, Harold Peck of Dahlonega, & Roger Peck of Cobart, GA., twelve grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Young, Rev Bryan Contardi, Rev Harley Hunter, & Rev Matt Pruitt officiating. Special music will be presented by the Faith Singers. Interment will follow at the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery where she will rest next to her beloved husband, Henry. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 2-4:00 and 6-9:00 pm. She will lie in state at the Cool Springs Baptist Church on Saturday from 4-5:00.
