Mrs. Annie Oakley Fortenberry age 70 of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Thursday August 17, 2017 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Fortenberry was born on March 4, 1947 in Cartersville, GA., the daughter of the late Richard Lee Stell and the late Virginia Elizabeth Castell Stell. Annie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and was a friend to many. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends. Annie was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mrs. Fortenberry are two sons, Adam Fortenberry of Ellijay, Carl Hollingshed of Jasper, GA.. Three brothers, Harvey Stell , William Stell and Earl Stell all of Dallas, GA., many other relatives and friends also survive.

No services are planned at this time. Interment will be held in Dallas, GA. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Union County Humane Society Mtn. Shelter in Mrs. Fortenberry’s memory. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
